Wallonia has participated in the Transport Logistic trade fair in Munich, highlighting its strategic position at the heart of Europe for companies seeking a competitive and efficient logistics and distribution ecosystem. AWEX brought together 11 Walloon companies on its stand.
A Multimodal Ecosystem in Europe
Thanks to an efficient network of inland waterways and two strategic airports, Wallonia offers a highly developed intermodal infrastructure.
Liège Airport, the fifth-largest cargo airport in Europe, specializes in e-commerce, perishable goods, live animals, pharmaceuticals, and express shipments. Liège is also known for its inland port, which is the largest in Belgium and the third-largest in Europe.
The Walloon rail network is a key player in European transport, facilitating connectivity, multimodal logistics, and contributing to the European Union’s sustainability goals. This network is further strengthened by innovative solutions such as electric trucks and alternative fuels. This dense infrastructure allows companies to optimize their supply chains and meet a wide range of needs, from food logistics to sensitive products such as vaccines or radioactive materials.
